Yogesh Nagaich, Director of Udaipur's Maharana Pratap Airport, informed, that the Airport Authority of India has signed an MoU with Ola, the cab hailing company. This facility will be available at all the airports of the country and passengers can travel to and from the airport at affordable rates. It is expected that from the coming year, passengers will be able to avail this benefit at Udaipur Airport also. This will alleviate the cost burden of airport travel to a considerable extent for passengers.

This cab service will be available at many airports of the country including Udaipur from the new year 2024.  As soon as they exit the terminal, passengers will be able to access this service and use Ola Cabs to reach their destination.

Transportation at minimal fares

Passengers were facing problems due to the arbitrary whims of private car-taxi operators at the airport. Cab drivers allegedly rip off passengers, mainly tourists, with charges that are uncontrolled and irrational. For eg. for a 20km run from the Airport in Udaipur to the centre of town, the cab company takes booking for Rs 400 to Rs 500, but the private operators charge anything between Rs 800-1000 from the tourists.

Tenders from other pre-paid Taxi Services

Airport Authority of India has also invited tenders for the license of pre-paid taxi service at Udaipur Airport. Though such licensed operation is ongoing at the Udaipur Airport, now new licenses will be issued. The last date for tenders is 3 January 2024.  Presently, even the Udaipur Municipal Corporation has deployed 4 buses which operate on a daily basis, to and fro from various destinations in the city to the Maharana Pratap Airport at Dabok. The charges are Rs 100 only.
