Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Mannalal Rawat also called for introduction of four more Vande Bharat trains, specifically for Udaipur-Indore and Surat
Udaipur, December 5, 2024 - Udaipur Member of Parliament (MP), Mannalal Rawat, has said that since the electrification work of the track from Shamlaji to Himatnagar has been completed, therefore, trains coming from South India, which stop at Ahmedabad, should be extended to Udaipur. This would benefit thousands of passengers, he added.
The MP also called for renaming of the train from Asarwa to Jaipur as Mangalgarh Dham Express. He was speaking in the Lok Sabha in support of the Rail Amendment Bill yesterday and said this move would bring pride to the tribal-dominated regions of Mewar and Wagad.
This year is being celebrated as Tribal Pride Year and several programmes are being held to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
MP Rawat also said that at present there are only four Vande Bharat trains operating in Rajasthan. He suggested introduction of four more Vande Bharat trains, specifically extending to Udaipur, Indore and Surat.
He expressed gratitude to the Railway Minister for restarting the Ratlam-Dungarpur rail project.
