Udaipur, March 4, 2025 - Traveling between Mumbai and Goa may soon become faster and more convenient with a new RoPAX ferry service. M2M Ferries is planning to start this service, allowing passengers to take their cars along with them. The ferry will run from Ferry Wharf in Mumbai to Mormugao Port in Goa. The company is also talking to Goa's government to allow docking at Panaji.
M2M Ferries has bought a RoPAX ferry from Italy and is preparing it for the Mumbai-Goa route. The ferry is currently under maintenance in Mumbai and will start running once all approvals are received. If everything goes as planned, travel time will be just 6.5 hours.
Ferry Details
The ferry will have capacity of 620 passengers and 60 cars. The ferry is competitor to Cordelia Cruises, which already runs a luxury cruise between Mumbai and Goa. The fare has yet to be decided.
Apart from this, the Maharashtra Maritime Board is also building new jetties in Raigad district to improve ferry connectivity along the Konkan coast. These jetties will be completed in 18 months.
If the Mumbai-Goa RoPAX ferry starts, it will revolutionize travel between the two cities, benefiting tourists, business travelers, and locals. The ferry will reduce time compared to road and rail and will also offer more comfortable and scenic journey along the coastline. It will reduce traffic congestion on highways.
