Mumbai- Goa passengers can expect Vande Bharat Express from next month of June, 2023. The train will run between CSMT and Madgaon from June. The maximum speed Vande Bharat Express runs on is 160 kmph. The train is anticipated to cut travel time between the two destinations up to 45 minutes as compared to Tejas Express.

At present, Tejas Express is running at 5:50 am from CSMT and arrives at Madgaon at 2:40 pm. The train leaves from Madgaon at 3:15 pm and arrives at CSMT at midnight. The train takes almost 8 hours 40 minutes. The total seating capacity of Vande Bharat Express is 1,128 with 16 AC Coaches and two executive class coaches. This Vande Bharat Express will be the fourth one to be running from Mumbai. 

The trial of this semi-high speed train on Mumbai-Goa route will begin on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. The two trains run on CR between CSMT-Sai Nagar Shirdi and CSMT-Pune-Solapur. The third operated between Mumbai Central and Gandhinagar on Western Railway.
