Mumbai-Aurangabad-Udaipur flight from 27th September

If you wish to visit the Ajanta Ellora caves, then you are only an hour away from the place. All you need to do is wait until September and then get to see this most famous spot. Just before the festival of Deepawali, Air India will give a gift of flight to Aurangabad. The AI flight Mumbai-Aurangabad-Udaipur will commence operations from 27th September. Air Bus 320 will be operated on this route thrice a week. The days of operation as of now are Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

The Air India flight will leave Mumbai at 12:30 p.m. and reach Aurangabad at 1:40 p.m. From here it will leave at 2:10 p.m. for Udaipur and then leave Udaipur for Aurangabad at 4 p.m. The same flight will then leave for Mumbai at 5:40 p.m.

The flight to Aurangabad from Udaipur had stopped in 1998 and this proved to be a loss for both the cities. Tourism suffered on this sector. Kingfisher had also started a flight for Aurangabad but the project did not prove to be successful. Now that there will be flights from Udaipur to Aurangabad, there are all the probabilities that tourism will see new dimensions as the beautiful caves attract people from everywhere.

The road distance between Udaipur and Aurangabad is 732 kms and the aerial distance is 545 kms.  A meeting had taken place regarding flight operations on this sector where reportedly Indigo had also displayed keen interest in operating its aircrafts on this tourist sector.
