Rs. 3.4 Crore Sanctioned for affected area

The Rajasthan Section of National Highway 58, connecting Udaipur in Rajasthan to Idar in Gujarat, via Jhadol has been completed, barring a small land slide affected stretch.

MP, Dr. Mannalal Rawat from Udaipur, has said that work on the proposed Highway via Jhadol has been nearly completed within the State boundary. He added that a 3.8km stretch, which was affected by land slides, still remains to be done and Rs 3.14 Cr has been sanctioned for this small stretch, which will be completed soon.

The Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari was responding to a question by MP Dr. Rawat to this effect, in the Lok Sabha. The Minister informed that the 58.03 km long route from Kundal to Jhadol in Rajasthan was to be upgraded to two lanes with paver shoulders at a cost of Rs. 370.30 Cr. The work was completed except for the 3.8 km landslide affected section. Similarly, the work of upgradation of 59.7 km long road from Jhadol to Ambha Heli to two lanes with paved shoulder was to be done at a cost of Rs. 341.79 Cr.

The work of upgradation of 56.11 km long road from Gujarat-Rajasthan border to Vijaynagar-Antar Suba-Mathasur Chokdi in Gujarat state to two lanes with paved shoulder is to be done at a cost of Rs. 699.19 Cr. The tender for this work is under process.

Regarding the compensation for the land acquired for this project, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has informed that for the said work, an amount of Rs. 80.56 Cr was sanctioned for Jhadol area in Kundal Jhadol Ambha Beli, out of which Rs. 55.56 Cr has been distributed. Similarly, Rs. 50.45 Cr were sanctioned for Girwa area, out of which compensation amount of Rs. 44.01 Cr has been distributed.
