Udaipur, February 6, 2025 - Private car owners who frequently use National Highways will soon benefit from new toll pass options. The government plans to introduce an "annual toll pass" for Rs 3,000/- and a "lifetime pass" for Rs 30,000/-. These passes will allow unlimited travel across all National Highways in India.

Annual Toll Pass

The new annual toll pass will cost Rs 3,000/-, which will give users unlimited access to any National Highway or Expressway. Users will need to recharge their FASTags for this amount and can travel freely across India until the validity expires. Once the validity runs out, users can recharge as usual.

Lifetime Pass

For those who prefer a long-term option, the lifetime pass is available for Rs 30,000/-. This pass is valid for 15 years and works similarly to the annual pass. It will also be integrated with the FASTag system for easy use.

Current Monthly Pass Costs

At present, users can purchase a monthly toll pass for Rs 340/-, which totals Rs 4,080/- annually. However, this pass is only valid at one toll plaza. The new annual plan offers significant savings and the flexibility to travel on any toll plaza across the country.

Government’s Plan and Revenue

The government introduced these toll pass options following the popularity of the FASTag system. In FY23-24, private vehicles contributed 26% of the total toll revenue, amounting to Rs 8,000 crore.
