Already hosting a number of pretty tourism destinations, Udaipur is set to add another spot to enjoy for locals and visitors. Administration is taking steps towards developing sector-14 situated Nela Lake (Nela Talab) into a tourist spot.
Being much ignored so far, this lake had been subject to a lot abuse with plots being carved out in the lake base. However, with increased awareness and vigil, administration is now gearing up to give back the lake its due respect and to develop it as a tourism destination.
Boundary walls are being erected around the lake to control encroachment. A significant amount of work has already been done for construction of the boundary wall. A promenade (Paal) is also being constructed for people to walk on. The existing promenade is being broadened and ghats are also being constructed to attract visitors. Work on construction of railing (bansi) has already been completed at one end.
The development of this lake will be a much welcome tourist destination for people in that area. Conservation and development of this lake is also significant from the environmental perspective and will help in improving the ground water level in the area.
