Udaipur, January 29, 2025 – Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, two railway stations in the Udaipur parliamentary constituency - the Rana Pratap Nagar and Udaipur City railway stations - have been identified for development in Rajasthan. They are part of the 85 railway stations under the scheme.
More than Rs 90 crores are being spent on the construction of 12 railway overbridges and underbridges in the Udaipur Parliamentary constituency. Work is going on at Rana Pratap Nagar Station, and reconstruction work is underway at a cost of more than Rs 350 crores at the Udaipur City Station.
This information was provided by Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting and Electronics & IT. He was replying to queries raised by Udaipur Member of Parliament (MP) Dr Mannalal Rawat during a discussion on the Railway (Amendment) Bill, 2024, in the Lok Sabha.
The Railways Minister informed that Udaipur constituency might receive new train services in the upcoming Railway budget. Along with the survey work for new rail lines in the region, the work of laying new rail tracks is also underway.
Work is going on for the Neemuch-Badi Sadri, Nathdwara-Nathdwara Town and Devgarh Madaria-Nathdwara railway lines. Survey work for the Devgarh-Bar and Neemuch-Kota new lines is also continuing, the Minister said in a letter to Dr Rawat.
Also, the initiation, expansion and stoppages of new train services, including Vande Bharat, have been directed to the concerned authorities, the Minister updated.
