Approval for New Udaipur-Kota MEMU Train

UdaipurTimes, Oct 19, 2026 -  Approval for a new MEMU train between Udaipur City and Kota has been granted. This information was shared in a letter to Udaipur MP Dr Manna Lal Rawat and Chittorgarh MP CP Joshi  by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

As per the details given, Train Nos. 61628/61627 Udaipur City–Kota MEMU will operate via Chanderiya in Chittorgarh district making travel more convenient for passengers from Chittorgarh and other areas along the route.

This new train will benefit all those passengers who travel regularly from Udaipur to Kota on work and, in particular, students who go to Kota for educational purposes.

MEMU or Mainline Electric Multiple Units are electric trains that run short and medium-distance on semi-urban and rural mainline routes.
