The Union Tourism Ministry has urged all states and Union Territories to allow entry to fully vaccinated people and not demand a negative RT-PCR report.
The above step has been taken as some states are still asking for a Covid negative report irrespective of the fact that people have taken both the jabs.
Should the fully vaccinated people be required to undergo RT-PCR test for interstate travel? The Union Tourism Ministry has urged all states and Union Territories to do away with the Covid-19 test for the fully vaccinated people who travel from one state to the other.
States like Karnataka, Goa, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal (for travellers from Mumbai, Pune and Chennai) still ask for negative RT-PCR report irrespective of the double vaccination take by the people.
The ADG of Ministry of Tourism Rupinder Brar said that the ministry has sent written communication to state secretaries urging states and Union Territories to adopt a uniform travel protocol during the pandemic. The Ministry is also trying to convince all states not to mandate RT-PCR tests for the fully vaccinated.
The tourism ministry said that meetings will be held with the ministries of health and family welfare and civil aviation to assess how the uniform protocol could be taken ahead and more relaxations could be worked out for the travellers.
