November 8, 2024 - In view of the Chhath Puja, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC) has made special arrangements for vegetarian food for passengers on Pooja Special and Chhath Puja trains arriving from across the country to states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, etc.

IRCTC has issued temporary orders prohibiting the preparation of non-vegetarian food in base kitchens, pantry cars, and IRCTC stalls at stations until Kartik Purnima, so that passengers traveling home for Chhath can be provided with pure vegetarian food.

Notably, during Navratri as well, IRCTC ensures arrangements for vegetarian snacks, meals, and fruit-based food options for passengers on trains.
