The North Western Ajmer Division of the Indian Railways grossed 15 Crore from ticket checking penalties during the year 2022-23. This was 90 Lakh more than the target for the year.
As per the presented Financial for the year 2022-23, Ajmer Division has earned an income of Rs 14 crore 78 lakh 75 thousand by performing brilliantly in ticket checking. This amount was recovered in the form of extra fare and fines. 2,84,605 cases of travel without ticket, without proper category and littering were registered.
This income of Rs 14.78 crore was earned against the target of Rs 13.88 crore. Which is more than 90 lakh rupees. This is the best performance of Ajmer division so far.
According to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Vivek Rawat, in order to discourage people traveling by train without ticket and against rules, ticket checking was conducted through normal checking, special intensive campaign, surprise and fortification throughout the year across Ajmer division.
Under the leadership of Divisional Commercial Manager Jayaprakash and other commercial officers and Divisional Chief Ticket Inspector Nandram and other ticket checking staff, intensive ticket checking was done in various trains operating on different sections of the division. As a result of the special efforts of railway officials and ticket checking staff, Ajmer division has performed brilliantly in ticket checking.
