Udaipur, January 22, 2025 - Udaipur passengers can now access emergency help with the newly implemented panic button facility in Rajasthan State Transport Corporation (RSTC) buses. This feature was officially launched by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on December 14,2024.
The panic button is designed to ensure passenger safety and provide immediate assistance during emergencies. By pressing the red button for three seconds, an alert is sent to the command center, sharing details about the driver, conductor, and the bus’s location. Alerts are also sent to the mobile phones of the depot’s chief manager, operational manager, and other officials.
These red buttons are placed near passengers seats and can be used in cases of harassment, accidents, criminal activities, or sudden medical emergencies. To ensure accessibility, each bus is equipped with 12 panic buttons. This facility is especially beneficial for female passengers facing any form of distress.
The initiative aims to enhance safety and comfort for all passengers traveling in roadways buses.
