Udaipur, February 10,2025 - Vehicles will not be allowed to take the Panvel exit route on the Mumbai carriageway of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway from Tuesday, February 11,2025, for the next six months. The Navi Mumbai traffic police announced this due to ongoing construction work at Kalamboli Circle.
The Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation is building a new flyover and underpass at Kalamboli Circle. This construction aims to reduce traffic congestion in the future.
Alternative Routes for Vehicles
For Vehicles Going Towards Panvel, Goa, and JNPT:
Vehicles will be diverted 9.6 km before the Panvel exit at Kon Phata. From there, they will take a left turn to reach Palaspe Circle and then connect to National Highway 48 (Delhi-Chennai Highway) to continue their journey.
For Vehicles Going Towards Taloja, Kalyan, and Shilphata: Instead of taking the Panvel exit, vehicles will descend from the expressway at Kalamboli and proceed along the Sion-Panvel Highway. Then, they will take a right turn near Purusharth Petrol Pump to reach Roadpali and continue towards NH-48.
No Change for MTHL (Atal Setu) Travelers
Vehicles coming from Pune and heading towards Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) will not face any extra diversions. They will continue on their route from Kon Phata via the service road.
Future Benefits of Construction
Once the flyover and underpass are completed, vehicles heading towards Panvel, JNPT, and Goa will be able to avoid multiple traffic signals. This will help improve travel time and reduce congestion in the area.
