Udaipur, July 11, 2026 | Railway Rules Update News: The Indian Railways has made it mandatory to carry a Photo ID while traveling in the General (Unreserved) section of Indian Railways, if the ticket has been purchased via RAILONE App. While this requirement is already in place for reserved sections, it has now become mandatory for passengers in the General coaches to carry a Photo ID with them. Railways News Update

Counter Tickets vs RAILONE App

For passengers who are purchasing the General category, the Photo ID will not be mandatory, but for passengers who have purchased the General category ticket through the RAILONE App, the Photo ID is compulsory. Railways Travel News Update

Rules for Tickets Booked via RAILONE App

  • Tickets booked through RAILONE App carry a 3% discount
  • General Category ticket has to be booked before the train departs
  • It will be valid only on the mobile device used to book the ticket
  • Screenshot or WhatsApp image of the ticket is not valid
  • Photo ID is compulsory
  • Discount will be extended till August 24, 2028
