Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off the Palace Queen Humsafar Express train between Mysuru and Udaipur at Mysuru railway station.

PM Modi is on a two-day visit to poll-bound Karnataka. As part of his overall itinerary, PM Modi flagged off the train.

Humsafar Express is fully AC (all AC 3 tier) train. It will traverse through 5 Western Indian states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka. The train is run by an electric locomotive.

The coaches used in the train include comfortable side berth seats, LED display, CCTV cameras, USB charging points among many other facilities.

The Humsafar train was announced by former Railway Minister, Suresh Prabhu as a part of Railway Budget 2016 in order to give the common man a taste of “luxury”.

Usually, flagging off of new railway projects is done by Railway Minister but this time the Prime Minister himself launched the new luxurious train.
