Poor Visibility Delays Trains into Udaipur
IMD reports a slight rise in temperatures; weather experts say temperatures are expected to remain between 5°C and 10°C over the next few days
Udaipur, Jan 9, 2026 - Dense fog continued to affect normal life in Udaipur, particularly during morning hours, causing disruptions in travel across the city. On Thursday (January 8), thick fog blanketed Udaipur and nearby areas until noon, significantly reducing visibility. Because of this, two trains arriving into the city were delayed.
Impacted trains were:
- Train No. 12981 Jaipur-Asarva arrived 1 hour and 5 minutes late
- Train No. 20473 Chetak Express reached Udaipur with a delay of 1 hour and 50 minutes.
Compared to the previous day, the minimum temperature in the city increased by 2 degrees, while the maximum temperature rose marginally by 1.1 degrees. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature on Thursday in the city over the past 24 hours was recorded at 20.0°C, which was 4.1 degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature stood at 8.2°C, which was 0.6 degrees above normal. A day earlier, these figures were 18.9°C and 6.2°C respectively.
Weather experts say temperatures are expected to remain between 5°C and 10°C over the next few days.
