The Rajasthan Tourism Department is taking steps to boost monsoon tourism by promoting Udaipur's beautiful attractions through the "Dekho Apna Desh" initiative. This campaign aims to draw both domestic and international tourists to Udaipur, especially during the monsoon season when the city transforms into a lush, green paradise.

Deputy Director of the Tourism Department, Shikha Saxena revealed that the department is using social media platforms extensively for this campaign. Through visually appealing posts and engaging content, they are focusing on showcasing Udaipur's natural beauty, heritage landmarks, and the city's magical atmosphere during the rains. This has led to a surge in interest among tourists, who are now exploring eco-tourism sites, smaller lakes, and hidden waterfalls around Udaipur. The monsoon season, in particular, has sparked a trend of outdoor activities like cycling, biking, and monsoon safaris, where visitors prefer self-driving to nearby attractions.

Under the tagline "Udaipur: A City That Charms," the campaign emphasizes Udaipur’s unique charm during the monsoons. The initiative highlights not just the city's rich culture, but also its stunning monsoon waterfalls, serene valleys perfect for vacations, and iconic tourist spots such as Pichola Lake, City Palace, and Saheliyon Ki Bari. These well-known destinations are portrayed alongside lesser-known, remote locations that offer tranquil escapes and scenic beauty, making Udaipur more appealing to tourists seeking offbeat experiences.

In addition to promoting well-known sites, the department is bringing attention to lesser-known getaways near Udaipur. The "Monsoon Getaways near Udaipur" section of the campaign highlights scenic spots like Fatehsagar Lake, known for its calm waters and monsoon ambiance, Sajjangarh Fort, which offers panoramic views of the city and lush green surroundings, and the Bahubali Hills, a popular spot for trekking and photography during the rainy season.

Apart from natural beauty and adventure activities, the campaign also focuses on Udaipur's unique cuisine, particularly dishes that are popular during the monsoon. The "Must Try Delicious Dishes in Udaipur During Monsoon" section encourages visitors to indulge in local delicacies like Papad ki Sabzi,  Diljani, and Tarfini.

Through this initiative, the department aims to not only increase footfall at Udaipur's famous spots but also promote remote destinations that often go unnoticed.
