General rules also require registering on their website 12 hours prior to flight.
Indians now have another reason to rejoice as Qatar has opened its doors for fully vaccinated people. Certain guidelines have been issued by Qatar for passengers who wish to visit this beautiful country.
Travelers still need to get tested upon arrival in the country, quarantines on case to case basis, and one of the most important requirement is that tourists will require to travel around using a contact tracking app.
The “Ehteraz” smartphone app, which requires a local sim card of Qatar, must be downloaded and activated by all tourists. Malls, museums, restaurants can be visited, cabs can be taken only after activating this app.
Citizens, immediate family members of citizens, permanent residents, as well as business and pleasure travelers with pre-approved visas, are now permitted to travel. One must register on the website www.ehteraz.gov.qa at least 12 hours prior to flight which is a requirement for obtaining travel permit.
Unvaccinated travelers include those who have taken only one jab, those who have not completed 14 days post the final jab, or those who have taken a jab which is not recognised by the Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health. Unvaccinated Indian visitors will be subject to 7 to 10 days of quarantine depending on their reason for travel and residence status.
Any non-immune passenger who has travelled to various countries in the last 10 days must stay in a lower risk station for minimum 10 days to qualify for quarantine privileges. Citizens who are returning from treatment abroad must present health certificates issued by the Committee for Medical Treatment Abroad (pre-registered at the website).
