The Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, has recently introduced the carbody structure for the Vande Bharat sleeper transit, a fresh initiative by Indian Railways. The sleeper transit, currently in the works at BEML, aims to revolutionize overnight travel through enhancements in passenger comfort. The initial Vande Bharat sleeper transit is projected to be finished in the upcoming months.

The Vande Bharat sleeper train, which operates autonomously, endeavors to offer upgraded facilities exceeding those found on the existing Rajdhani Express trains, thus setting a new standard for overnight travel.

Shantanu Roy, the CMD of BEML Ltd, expressed satisfaction in contributing to this noteworthy accomplishment, emphasizing the priority placed on delivering comfort and premium amenities while simultaneously reducing travel time.

Plans to introduce 10 sets of Vande Bharat sleeper trains

Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Railway Minister, has revealed intentions to manufacture 10 sets of Vande Bharat sleeper trains. BEML is ready to manufacture these sets, with ongoing projects for additional Vande Bharat sleeper trains. The Vande Bharat sleeper trains are crafted to travel at 160 kmph, showcasing improved acceleration and braking capabilities, with the objective of substantially reducing travel time on busy routes of the Indian Railways.

The first version of the Vande Bharat sleeper train will include 11 coaches for AC 3-tier, 4 coaches for AC 2-tier, and 1 coach for AC 1st class. The trains will provide amenities centered around passenger comfort, such as enhanced berth padding surpassing that of Rajdhani Express trains, sensor-triggered lighting in common spaces, smoother rides facilitated by improved couplings, and upgraded floor lighting during nighttime for improved navigation in aisle areas.
