Rajasthan’s Unexplored Wonders to Become New Tourist Hotspots
Rajasthan Tourism Department identifies Badnor, Mandalgarh, Gagron Fort among others for global branding and infrastructure development
Feb 3, 2026 – Rajasthan Tourism Department is now working actively to promote new and unique destinations which have been yet unexplored or are less known. The State plans to move beyond the boundaries of traditional tourism and present these destinations on national and global platforms.
The objective is to offer something new and unique to tourists visiting Rajasthan from across India and around the world. The government does not want tourism in Rajasthan to remain limited to monuments, forts or palaces alone.
To achieve this, the Tourism Department has identified 18 such spots across more than 19 districts of the State. These include Badnor, Mandalgarh and the World Heritage Site Gagron Fort, among others which have so far remained away from tourists’ attention.
Basic infrastructure facilities will be developed at these sites, followed by global-level branding. A dedicated team, led by Additional Chief Secretary Praveen Gupta along with senior officials of the Tourism Department, is working on implementing a detailed action plan to place these new destinations on the global tourism map. Within the next two to three months, strategies related to infrastructure development and global branding are expected to be finalised.
