Udaipur Railways: Social workers in the city have formally requested a change in the route of the Udaipur-Kolkata Summer Special train via an online portal. Their aim is to facilitate travel to religious destinations during holidays. The proposed route includes stops at Jaipur, Bandikui, Alwar, Govardhan, and Mathura, in addition to its current stops from Bhilwara, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bandikui, Bharatpur, and Agra Cantt to Kolkata.

The Udaipur-Kolkata Summer Special train is scheduled to operate every Sunday from May 5 till June 30, 2024 departing at 2:05 PM.

The request, jointly submitted by Ajay Chauhan, Sonu Kumar, Deepak Yadav, and others, highlights the potential relief it could provide to the heavily crowded Ananya Express, a special train from Udaipur to Kolkata. By including major pilgrim spots associated with Lord Krishna along the route, the initiative aims to cater to both religious and leisure travellers.

Furthermore, the proposal includes demands for the train to make stops at Chittorgarh and Chanderiya. This adjustment, if implemented, could significantly enhance travel accessibility and experience for passengers.
