Udaipur, December 9,2024 - The Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit was inaugurated today at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC), Sitapura, Jaipur. Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the three-day event, which aims to boost investment in Rajasthan. Several prominent industrialists and investors, including Gautam Adani and Anand Mahindra, are attending the summit. The event focuses on opportunities in tourism, transport, and industries.

Tourism Potential of Rajasthan

Rajasthan is known for its rich tourism potential. It attracts visitors with its deserts, wildlife sanctuaries, lakes, historic forts, and rural culture. The state welcomed 179 million domestic tourists and 1.7 million international tourists in the financial year 2023.

Upcoming Tourism Developments

With the summit's launch, major developments in tourism are expected. A new Cheetah Corridor project is planned to connect forests in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. This eco-tourism circuit will stretch from Kuno to Gandhi Sagar, covering forests in seven districts of Rajasthan.

Rajasthan’s Connectivity

Rajasthan is well-connected by air, road, and rail networks. Flights from Udaipur, Jaipur and Jodhpur link the state to major Indian cities, enhancing accessibility for tourists and investors.

Tourism’s Contribution to GDP

Tourism is a key sector for Rajasthan, contributing 12% to the state’s GDP. The state's historic forts like Amer Fort, Mehrangarh Fort, and City Palace, along with its diverse landscapes, offer a wide range of experiences, including desert safaris, wildlife tours, and trekking.

This summit is expected to strengthen Rajasthan’s position as a top destination for tourism and investment.
