RSRTC Gets 12 New Volvo Buses; Udaipur May Get Two
Udaipur, July 29, 2025 – Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) has received 12 new Volvo buses, with hopes that two of them will be allotted to Udaipur. These buses are likely to be deployed on the Udaipur-Jaipur and Udaipur-Jodhpur routes.
The 12 new Volvo buses, manufactured at a plant in Bengaluru, have arrived at the luxury bus workshop located at the RSRTC headquarters in Jaipur. These buses will begin long-route operations once the necessary route permits are granted and schedules are finalised.
It may be recalled that last year, nine out of 25 luxury buses from Scania were phased out by October after covering a distance of 1.5 million kilometres. In their place, standard 2x2 seater AC buses were introduced.
Currently, the Volvo bus operated by the Jaipur depot arrives daily at 10:00 pm at the Udaipur depot, coming from Ahmedabad via Udaipur to Jaipur. As this bus has aged considerably, it may be replaced with a new Volvo. Similarly, Udaipur may also receive a new Volvo bus for the Udaipur-Jodhpur route.
