Udaipur, December 19,2024 - Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) has announced plans to replace old buses in its fleet with 288 new ones. These buses will be of the Blue Line and BS-6 category.

New Bus Specifications

All 288 buses will feature 3x2 seating arrangements. RSRTC has issued tenders for their purchase, with a pre-bid meeting scheduled for December 24. The tenders will be accepted from December 30 to January 17 and opened on January 21.

Separate tenders have been issued for the purchase of bus chassis and body construction. The project will cost Rs 100.8 crore.

Allocation of Buses

The allocation of the 288 buses to specific depots has not been disclosed. However, Udaipur depot has submitted a proposal for approximately 50 buses. Recently, Udaipur received five new contractual buses, which are operating on long routes.

Tenders and Expenditure

RSRTC has issued tenders worth Rs 66.24 crore for chassis and Rs 34.56 crore for body construction. These steps aim to modernize the fleet and improve passenger services.

Current Fleet and Passenger Services

RSRTC operates 3,708 buses across 52 depots in Rajasthan. The buses transport around 7.31 lakh passengers daily. Old buses often face breakdowns, causing inconvenience to passengers.

The inclusion of new buses will reduce diesel consumption and increase revenue for Roadways. It will also ensure smoother travel for passengers.

New Truck Allocated to Udaipur

RSRTC has acquired 18 trucks to transport goods to various depots. Udaipur depot has received one truck to bring materials like bus tires from Jaipur.

This truck will serve Udaipur, Rajsamand, and Dungarpur collectively, addressing the limited availability of transport vehicles.
