Sajjangarh Palace Sees a Surge in Tourists and Revenue

Udaipur, December 2, 2024 - In the past two and a half years, Sajjangarh (Monsoon) Palace has seen 11,52,473 visitors, generating an income of Rs 17,21,14000/- for the Zoo Trust. The attraction of the palace has grown, with more tourists visiting, especially during the monsoon season.

Tourist Visits Peak in Monsoon Season

Traditionally, Udaipur's peak tourist season runs from Diwali to the New Year. However, Sajjangarh Palace and the surrounding valleys are now attracting tourists during the monsoon season as well. This year's statistics show a clear trend.

August Records High Number of Visitors

In August alone, 56,203 tourists visited the Monsoon Palace, generating an income of 1 crore 23 lakh 97 thousand rupees. This shows the increasing popularity of the palace during the monsoon months.

Tourist Influx Continues in October

By October, 13,745 tourists had already visited Sajjangarh, generating Rs 5,27,69,615/-. With five months still remaining in the year, the number of visitors is expected to keep rising, especially during the coming peak months.

Reinvestment in Tourist Facilities

The revenue from the tourists is being used to improve facilities at the palace. New amenities like modern toilets, baby care rooms, digital shows, and folk music performances have been added to enhance the experience.

New Lion Safari at Sajjangarh Sanctuary

A new lion safari has been created at the Sajjangarh Sanctuary at a cost of 3 crore 45 lakh rupees. This addition will become another major attraction for visitors in the future.

Highest Tourist Numbers in Monsoon Season

This year, July, August, and September recorded the highest number of tourists visiting the Sajjangarh Palace. The monsoon season has proven to be a significant draw for visitors to this historic site.
