April 28, 2025 – The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia has introduced a new digital card for Hajj pilgrims for the 1446 Hijri year. This smart card, named Nusuk Card, comes with numerous features aimed at enhancing the safety and travel experience of the pilgrims.

The Saudi authorities have announced that pilgrims must collect this card before starting on their journey. Carrying the card is obligatory throughout the journey – from arrival to departure. It will help verify the pilgrim's legal status, to identify authorised pilgrims from the illegal ones in the country.

Hajj pilgrims arriving from abroad will receive the Nusuk Card at airports and other entry points. Those going for Hajj from within Saudi Arabia will receive the card through their respective Hajj service companies.

Pilgrims can easily get more detailed information by scanning the QR code on the card.

Features of Nusuk Card

  • It will prevent forgery of documents, thereby ensuring greater security for the pilgrims.
  • The card will facilitate the swift identification and retrieval of pilgrim information during the Hajj.
  • It will contain information about each pilgrim's accommodation and details of the services available to them.
  • This card will provide pilgrims with the necessary guidance and updates, particularly during crowded periods.
  • It will provide details of the authorised companies providing Hajj services.
  • It will include essential contact numbers for emergencies.
  • It can be used to reach out to various service centres, such as accommodation and transportation facilities.

The Nusuk Card has been designed to help make the Hajj journey smoother and safer for all pilgrims. The authorities have already started issuing the cards and so far, more than 150,000 such cards have been issued.
