Udaipur, December 18,2024- The road between Hadi Rani and Savina, heading towards Banswara, has been blocked due to sewer line installation work at the Savina railway underpass. The Municipal Corporation began work late on Tuesday, December 17,2024. Around 17,000 drivers who use this route daily will face significant inconvenience due to the ongoing work.

Traffic Diversion in Place

As a result, traffic will now need to pass through Vijay Singh Pathik Nagar and the Sector 9 overbridge to reach Savina. Vehicles are also being diverted from Paras Chowk through Rajputana Resort to reach Savina.

Sewer Line Installation Details

The sewer line will be laid over a distance of 1 to 1.5 km, stretching from Hadi Rani Circle to Savina. The work is expected to disrupt traffic for about two and a half months. The road had been blocked a week earlier when pipes were placed diagonally. This work is part of the Municipal Corporation's Amrit 2.0 scheme. Under this project, a 152 km long sewer line will be laid in 14 wards of the city at a cost of Rs 180.53 crore.

Project Benefits and Timeline

The project will provide 18,620 sewer connections and benefit about 70,000 people. Sewer system coverage within the city will increase from 60.59% to 72.69%. The foundation for this project was laid by UDH Minister Shanti Dhariwal and Punjab Governor Gulabchand Kataria in June. The work is expected to be completed in two years.

Current Traffic Routes

Vehicles heading to Udiapol, Reti Stand, Paras Chowk, Sector 4 to 6, Titradi, Salumbar, and Banswara usually pass through the Savina Railway underpass.

Alternative Routes for Vehicles

Currently, vehicles are using Manwakheda Road, crossing the railway bridge, and reaching Savina through Vijay Singh Pathik Nagar Road. Vehicles coming from Titradi are also taking this route into the city.
