Screenshot of App-Based Rail Ticket on Another Device Not Valid
Travellers showing a ticket screenshot on another device may be treated as travelling without a ticket, and a penalty of Rs 250 along with additional charges may be imposed by the TTE
Udaipur, Feb 5, 2026 - Unreserved tickets booked via the RailOne mobile app or UTS are valid only on the mobile from which the ticket was booked. Showing a screenshot of the ticket on another mobile will be considered invalid, according to Regional Railway Manager Mahendra Depal.
Travellers showing a ticket screenshot on another device may be treated as travelling without a ticket, and a penalty of Rs 250 along with additional charges may be imposed by the TTE.
This rule ensures tickets are not misused. Some passengers ask friends or relatives to book tickets on their mobiles and share screenshots, allowing two people to travel on a single ticket. With this rule, such misuse will not be possible.
However, if you have changed your handset, you can re-sync the ticket you booked on UTS app to your new mobile. Change of handset is allowed five times in a month if you have an active ticket. You have to initiate the change handset (IMEI) request on the existing phone and download the UTS app in your new device. Then you can use the sync ticket option to transfer your active ticket to the new handset.
