Udaipur, December 21,2024 - The electrification work of the broad gauge rail line from Udaipur to Ahmedabad began on Friday, December 20, 2024, with a Commission of Railway Safety (CRS) inspection. The work is a significant step toward introducing electric trains on this route.
Speed Trial from Shamlaji to Himmatnagar
On Saturday, December 21, 2024, a speed trial will be conducted between Shamlaji and Himmatnagar. The trial is part of the final stage of the electrification process. After this, the electric line is expected to be approved soon, and passenger trains will begin operating with electric engines.
Inspection of Electrification Work
To inspect the work, North Western Railway’s Chief Electrical Engineer, Manish Gupta, arrived in Udaipur along with other officials. They traveled in a special vehicle and inspected the electrification work at stations such as Jaisamand, Bichhiwara, Shamlaji, and Raigarh.
Electrification of Different Sections
The Udaipur to Himmatnagar section falls under the jurisdiction of North Western Railway, while the Himmatnagar to Asarwa track is under Western Railway. The electrification work for the Asarwa to Himmatnagar section was completed last month. The CRS for the Udaipur to Shamlaji section has already been done.
