Monday witnessed the arrival of Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, in a rather unconventional manner.  PM Lee chose to travel in a chartered bus rather than a VIP convoy, after he landed in Delhi.

PM Lee is slated to visit Udaipur tomorrow.  He, along with Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia will inaugurate the Center for Excellence in Tourism Training; the first of its kind in Rajasthan at the MLSU Campus.

The setting up of this centre is a part of the Skills Development Collaboration under India-Singapore Strategic Partnership signed last year in November.

This is his second visit to India, which he last visited in December 2012 to attend the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit.

PM Lee will also meet his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi where they will discuss security, trade and investment.  He will also be meeting the President, Pranab Mukherjee with whom he will attend a reception for Singaporeans based in India.

Vasundhara Raje will host him for lunch during his trip to Udaipur.

As per Collector Udaipur Rohit Gupta, “Trainers and experts from Singapore will deliver the training program at the Centre for Excellence in Tourism Training, primarily designed for training manpower for the State’s tourism sector.  Students would be offered short term diploma/certification courses on food processing, air ticketing, hotel management etc.”
