The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) announces the operation of the South India Darshan Tourist Train. Departing from Jaipur via Ajmer, Chittorgarh and Udaipur on May 3, 2024, this tour will take passengers to the southern regions of India.
The 12-day journey will travel through scenic landscapes, with stops at key destinations including Rameswaram, Madurai, Kanyakumari, Trivandrum, Mallikarjuna, and Tirupati Balaji. Designed to accommodate up to 700 passengers at once, this tour promises an immersive experience into the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of South India.
In preparation for the summer season, IRCTC's Joint General Manager Tourism, Yogendra Singh Gurjar, has announced that the train will feature 'air-conditioned third AC coaches', ensuring optimum comfort for travellers during the long expedition.
Passengers can choose from two categories
Standard and Comfort, with fares starting at Rs. 30,550 per person for Standard Category and Rs. 35,860 per person for Comfort Category.
The tour package encompasses not only accommodation and transportation but also includes visits to prominent temples and tourist attractions. From exploring the iconic Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameswaram to witnessing the majestic beauty of the Meenakshi Temple in Madurai.
