CISF at several airports, including Udaipur, introduces six types of stretches for passengers before boarding to improve blood circulation before and during flights
Udaipur, January 7, 2025 – The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has launched a programme to conduct stretching exercises at airports for passengers before they board their flights. This initiative is being taken in view of the muscle stiffness experienced by passengers because of prolonged sitting particularly in view of flight delays owing to fog and the cold.
This programme has been launched at airports in Udaipur, Srinagar, Dehradun, Gwalior, Jodhpur and Bhuntar. It is gradually being introduced at other airports, too.
Passengers are being made to perform six types of stretches at the boarding gate every day. The feedback from passengers has been positive. This light exercise is voluntary and takes two to three minutes.
CISF has clarified that this stretching is only for passengers who do not have any serious medical issues. According to experts, stretching helps prevent muscle stiffness and improves blood circulation thereby reducing the risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).
