Recent reports indicate that Taiwan is considering the extension of visa-on-arrival for Indian citizens, which could potentially simplify travel for Indian nationals to the island nation. If sanctioned, the visa-on-arrival initiative would signify a positive advancement for Indian tourists keen on experiencing Taiwan's dynamic culture, beautiful scenery, and lively urban areas.
Regarding this, Taiwan's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tien Chung-kwang highlighted this approach, recognizing the significant international travel from India and the potential advantages of simplifying visa procedures. Indian travelers are required to secure a visa prior to their visits to Taiwan, a process known for its complexity and time consumption. Introducing a visa-on-arrival system would not only appeal to more Indian tourists but also simplify travel arrangements for Indian students studying in Taiwan.
On Tuesday, during a press briefing in Taipei, Tien recognized the proposal and highlighted the importance of discussing internally with Taiwan's Immigration Department before making any formal decision. He highlighted the substantial travel by Indian citizens and mentioned that the government is exploring the possibility of implementing visa-on-arrival. Talks with the Immigration Department are ongoing, underscoring the importance of collaborative decision-making through internal discussions.
