Talks with Airlines for Starting International Flights from Udaipur: Minister

Udaipur’s Maharana Pratap Airport's new terminal building expected to be inaugurated in 2026; government also exploring international flight operations from Udaipur

Udaipur, March 31, 2026 – The new terminal building of Udaipur's Maharana Pratap Airport is scheduled to open this year. This information was shared by Union Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu in the Rajya Sabha during Question Hour on Monday (March 30).

Naidu also shared that the government is in discussions with airlines to see the feasibility of starting international flights once the new terminal building is operational.

The Minister's reply was to a question asked by BJP MP Chunnilal Garasiya who wanted to know when international services would start from Udaipur.

The new terminal at Udaipur’s Maharana Pratap Airport in Dabok is currently under construction. Built at an estimated cost of Rs 887 crore and spread across 40,000 square metres, the terminal will handle 2,050 passengers at a time. It will include 42 additional check-in counters and 26 security screening counters to reduce waiting time. Parking capacity will increase from 300 to 700 cars.

Naidu also said that the Indian aviation sector has witnessed strong growth during the last 11 years of the Modi-government with focus on capacity building and skill development for airport operations.
