Udaipur railway station is about to be renovated once again keeping in mind the number of tourists coming via trains. In order to provide better facilities and arrangements to the tourists, a facelift has been planned after which the railway station will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment almost at par with the airports.

Apart from Udaipur, Udhna and Surat railway stations will also be renovated. A pre-bid meeting was held in Udaipur and it was decided that Udaipur station will be modelled on the design-build-finance-operate based on transit-oriented development. The 3 stations will be developed as per global standards to provide world class facilities to the passengers.

Udaipur railway station is 4,98,115 square meters in terms of area. The estimated cost of renovation is 132 crore rupees and the time limit window is upto 3 years.
