Maharana Pratap Tourism Circuit Phase 1 Approved at Rs 175 Crore
Haldighati, Chavand, Gogunda and Dewair to be developed as world-class heritage tourism destinations in phase one
Udaipur, Dec 23, 2025 – Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for development of four historical sites in the regiopn under the first phase of the Maharana Pratap Tourism Circuit have been prepared and the tendering process is to begin soon. The State Government has approved the development of Chavand, Haldighati, Gogunda and Dewair at Rs 175 crore with the aim to take tourism to new heights and give global recognition to historically significant sites.
Key Central government agencies like NBCC and Engineers India will coordinate the project.
Development Details
Haldighati: A grand Maharana Pratap and Chetak Memorial will be constructed at a cost of Rs 145 crore. The memorial will showcase the historic battle, Mewar’s culture and tales of bravery, making it a major tourist attraction.
Chavand: Beautification and development work will be carried out at Maharana Pratap’s cenotaph located near the lake, at a proposed budget of Rs 5-8 crore. All works will comply with Wetland regulations. Additionally, a massive memorial dedicated to Maharana Pratap will be built at Chavand at a cost of Rs 22-25 crore, using modern technology to present history, culture and valour.
Dewair-Gogunda: Under the Maharana Pratap Tourism Circuit, Dewair and Gogunda will also be developed as major tourist destinations.
Development work in Gogunda and Chavand will be carried out by RSRDC while that in Haldighati and Dewair will be conducted under the Rajasthan Heritage Authority.
