Diwali 4

As Diwali approached, Udaipur was bustling with tourists from all over the country. Many visitors came from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, and Punjab. The local tourism industry was set for a busy week as these travelers enjoyed the festival celebrations.

Traffic Congestion Reflects Tourist Arrival

The Old City is experienced heavy traffic congestion throughout the day. Most visitors opted for private vehicles for their journeys to popular destinations such as Udaipur, Nathdwara, Kumbhalgarh, and Jawai.

Booking Trends and Full Occupancy

Lake-side hotels and resorts are still fully booked, mirroring the situation in Kumbhalgarh. The recent initiation of safaris has further increased tourist stays.

High Expectations for Tourist Numbers

Hotel operators anticipate that this year's Diwali celebrations will attract over 50,000 tourists. The district have 811 hotels, resorts, and homestays, with a notable trend this year showing tourists favouring villa and resort accommodations, especially popular among youth groups.
