Tourist Rush at Monsoon Palace Sets New Records
Udaipur, January 15, 2025 - Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary, home to the iconic Monsoon Palace, witnessed a record-breaking tourist footfall in December 2024. The month saw 71,354 visitors, generating a revenue of Rs 1.49 crore for the Forest Department.
Deputy Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Devendra Kumar Tiwari stated that enhanced tourist facilities, including modern toilets, a childcare room, and an RO water filter, contributed to the increased footfall. Local artists greeting tourists with sarangi music also added a unique charm.
Between April 1 and December 31, 2024, a total of 3,76,669 tourists visited Monsoon Palace, earning Rs 8.12 crore for the state treasury. With three months left in the financial year, the numbers are expected to rise further.
