Since it is the festive season of Holi, trains and buses are overloaded. Because of weekend right before Holi, passenger load can be observed following which 4 additional buses will be run to accomodate the masses.
People return home from their job stations at the time of festivals. Holika dahan is on 9th and dhuleri is on 10th March. Just before this is the weekend and many people are returning to their home town for the celebrations. This has increased the passenger traffic and all trains and buses are fully packed for which most of the people had booked in advance.
The trains have a huge waiting list as people returning to Udaipur from Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai and Pune are in great numbers. The trains are completely packed and this situation is being observed since last week. The weekend is sure to have more traffic in trains and the waiting list will certainly go up.
Even the buses are packed as people from the areas of Dungarpur, Banswara and the nearby rural region work in the Gulf countries and the metro cities. The buses moving in between Udaipur and Gujarat face heavy passenger load during festive season. The roadways department has henceforth decided to add 4 buses on these routes since there will be aggressive traffic on the weekends. It may also be noted that traffic reduces on the 2 days of Holi festivities and jumps when the masses return to their work areas.
