Trains are expected to run from Udaipur to Rameshwaram and Kamakhya junction from next month i.e. October. As per reports, Chittorgarh legislator CP Joshi spoke to Railway Minister Piyush Goyal in this matter.

The commencement of trains to Rameshwaram and Kamakhya will increase Udaipur’s connectivity with southern part of India. Rameshwaram train will be Udaipur’s first ever train to Tamilnadu. Rameshwaram is one of the pilgrimage centres which have one of the 12 jyotirlingas. The train to Kamakhya (Guwahati) junction will connect Udaipur to North East states as Guwahati is the entry point for North East. This will also be the first train into Assam from Udaipur.
