Indian Railways is very likely to resume its train services to Vaishno Devi from 15th October. The news is an amazing one for those planning to visit Vaishno Devi and were laid back because of the pandemic.
Vande Bharat Express train will soon resume operations from Delhi to Katra. The Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that resuming of this pilgrimage route has already been discussed with Railway Minister Piyush Goyal. This has indeed come as a good news for those wanting to visit the shrine during the navratri season.
It may be noted that the train services were put to a halt in the wake of the pandemic which resulted in a nation wide lockdown. With the lockdown lifting in a phased manner, Ahmedabad-Mumbai Tejas Express and Lucknow-New Delhi Tejas Express will resume services from 17th October. Indian Railways, as informed, is also about to introduce 39 special trains to facilitate travel for people during the festival season.
It may also be noted that the number of pilgrims visiting the shrine has been increased to 7000 from October 15th, 2020. A decision is yet to be taken on the palanquin and pony services and large processions and gatherings will not be permitted yet.
