Trains to and from Indore have been cancelled following the unruly conditions in Madhya Pradesh, resulting from the farmers revolt.
According to Suganchand Verma, Station Superintendant at Udaipur City Railway station, the evening train plying from Indore to Udaipur (#19329) at 7:45pm and Udaipur to Indore (#19330) plying at 8:45pm were cancelled.
Passengers dependent on this route have been affected as no other mode of transport seems to be possible since the Indore Bhopal highway has also been badly affected.
Summer vacation related travel and tourist traffic will be affected due to this unavoidable situation. In the current scenario, it is advisable that people stay put at their respective locations.
Rahul Gandhi is expected in Udaipur today as he will be travelling to Mandsaur by road to meet party workers and assess the situation. The farmers revolt, now more than a week old, doesn’t seem to be getting any calmer with incidents of arson, altercation resulting in death and injuries of many.
