The Medical Tourism of Udaipur is on rise as thousands of people from different parts of India and abroad come to the city. NABS acclaimed private hospital and medical facilities of International standards have marked Udaipur on the world map.

The standards and facilities available in the hospitals make tourists come to Udaipur for medical treatment. The NABS acclaimed hospital provides 25% less costly treatment to the foreigners.

The following pointers state the condition of Udaipur’s Medical status:

* For operations such as root canal, patients have to wait for 2-3 months in USA and UK. Also, the difficulty to meet super specialist doctors lead people to refer to general physicians.

* The private hospitals of Udaipur, as compared to foreign hospitals provide facilities with 25% less cost. The cost of MRI in private hospital here is Rs. 3000 whereas in foreign it comes to around $5,000.

* The upcoming Specialty Wing of MB hospital, slated to commence its construction in January will provide state-of-art facilities in minimal cost.

* The state’s only Ayurveda College is in Udaipur. Many specialists who have pursued their PG in Panchkarma from this college are providing treatment in the city. Many foreigners are undertaking treatment through various liturgies of Ayurveda.

Besides these, the number of tourists that visited the city last year (2013) were 1,85,313. On an average every year, Udaipur welcomes 1.75-2 Lac tourists. If there are more hospitals which are NABS approved and if more Ayurveda therapy centers are put up by the state government, Udaipur can turn out to be the best in terms of Medical tourism in the state.
