Udaipur, February 12, 2025 - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced the Blue Visa, a special 10-year residency for individuals who contribute to environmental sustainability. The announcement was made during the World Governments Summit 2025 in Dubai by the UAE’s Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP).
In the first phase, 20 sustainability leaders and innovators will be awarded the Blue Visa. This includes people who have made important contributions to environmental protection and sustainability both within and outside the UAE.
The Blue Visa is aimed at supporters of environmental action. It will be given to members of international organizations, global companies, associations, and NGOs. Additionally, winners of major environmental awards, researchers, and activists working in the field of environmental protection will also be eligible.
