Udaipur, February 4, 2025 – There is positive news for Udaipur rail travellers with Indian Railways announcing the operations of Vande Bharat train between Udaipur and Ahmedabad soon. Railway officials have said that from this month or by the first week of next month, one Vande Bharat train will run between Jaipur and Jodhpur and another between Udaipur and Ahmedabad.

Additionally, within just four months, Gandhinagar (Jaipur) and Jaisalmer railway stations will also be developed as world-class stations under the Amrit Bharat Railway Station Scheme.

In fact, the Central Government has allocated a budget of Rs 9,960 crore to Rajasthan in this year's budget, which is Rs 1 crore more than last year's Rail Budget.

Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced during a video conference yesterday that more than 200 Vande Bharat trains will run across the country, with possibly 10 Vande Bharat trains coming to Rajasthan.

The Ministry has also allocated funds for the maintenance depot being built at Khatipura, which will speed up its construction. This maintenance depot is expected to be completed by the end of this year. After that, maintenance of Vande Bharat and other trains will be carried out at the Khatipura station.

General Manager of North Western Railway, Amitabh informed during a press conference at the headquarters yesterday that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Ring Railway in Jaipur is being prepared and will be completed soon. It will then be sent to the board.

The GM said that the electrification work in the zone is complete, with only the Ganganagar-Dausa section remaining, which will also be completed this year. To reduce the load on Jaipur Junction Railway Station, the operation of mail and superfast trains from Khatipura station will begin regularly.
