Maharana Pratap Airport at Dabok,Udaipur will not have any more passengers waiting in long queue during luggage scanning. The airport had only 2 luggage scanning machines until now, but now the 3^rd machine has been installed.

With the increase in the number of flights from Udaipur, luggage scanning became a troublesome task as passengers had to wait for their turn in queue. Now that the airport has the 3^rd scanner, there will not be long queues during luggage checking and passengers will be able to get free from the security check in time.

It may be noted that almost 4000 passengers frequent Udaipur airport daily. 2 frisking booths each have been opened for males and females respectively. Each check requires 5 minutes but lack of scanning machines was making it really impossible for the passengers to get through the check on time.

The scanning procedure takes long time because of the following reasons also:

• Many passengers carry electronic items in hand-bags.
• Passengers also carry nail-cutters, scissors, knives and such items which are actually prohibited in hand bags. These things then need to be kept in trays to be passed under the scanner for security check.
• The security staff has to take care of separating such stuff into different trays which also involves a lot of time.
