Maharana Pratap Airport in Udaipur continues to witness a strong surge in passenger traffic. For the 24th consecutive month, the airport recorded over 100,000 passengers.
In August, 127,625 passengers travelled through the airport. This is an increase of 6,440 compared to July, which saw 121,185 passengers. The numbers for June were also slightly lower, with 112,871 passengers.
Aircraft movements also saw a rise. In August, 1,191 aircraft movements were recorded, compared to 1,105 in July. The highest passenger count this year was recorded in March, with 150,996 passengers flying through the airport.
Since November 2023, the airport has consistently handled more than 100,000 passengers each month. The rise in passengers in August was largely due to the monsoon season.
With World Tourism Day on September 27, the start of the tourist season is expected to bring even more travellers. Water bodies like Fateh Sagar, Pichola Lake, and Badi Lake are filled to capacity, attracting more tourists.
