Udaipur-Asarwa Line Runs First Electric Passenger Train

Indian Railways will now run the daily Veerbhumi Express and the bi-weekly Kota-Asarwa-Kota Express with electric engines

 
Train Updates on Udaipur route North Western Railways

Udaipur, January 13, 2025 - Sunday morning, January 12, witnessed a departure from norm when for the first time, a passenger train travelled from Udaipur to Asarwa (Ahmedabad) on electric power. This was following the electrification process of the railway track on this route.

Train No. 19315, Indore-Asarwa-Veer Bhumi Express, coming from Indore, departed for Asarwa at around 4:45 am on January 12. In the evening, Train No. 19316 Asarwa-Indore Veer Bhumi Express came back on the return route running again on electric power.

On completion of the electrification of track on this route, Indian Railways will now run the daily Indore-Asarwa-Veer Bhumi Express and the bi-weekly Kota-Asarwa-Kota Express with electric engines.

Currently, five trains operate on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad (Asarwa) broad gauge section. These include Train No. 20987/20988 Udaipur-Asarwa-Udaipur Superfast (daily), Train No. 12981/12982 Jaipur-Asarwa-Jaipur Superfast (daily), Train No. 09543/09544 Asarwa-Chittorgarh-Asarwa DEMU (daily), Train No. 19315/19316 Indore-Asarwa-Indore Veer Bhumi Express and Train No. 19821/19822 Asarwa-Kota-Asarwa-Kota (twice a week).
